This photo comes from Bermuda, around July of 2009. While on a scouting trip with my friend Ben, we took our scooters down to a very secluded fishing spot where there were a handful of local fishermen fishing with ‘hand lines’ – basically just fishing line with sinkers and bait attached to them.
I had my camera with me (then a Canon 5D) for scouting photos, and while Ben chatted with the locals, I got a couple shots of the surrounding area. This boat was tied up between a couple trees and appeared as though it hadn’t been touched in weeks/months/years.
Anyhow, recently I was going through my Aperture library and found this picture. I retouched it with Photoshop and did some experimenting with the Plastic Wrap filter – the results of which being the exaggerated definition of the boat, and the surreal look of the water.
